Adult Jujitsu

Adult Jujitsu Classes in Tucker, GA

In your classes here at The Martial Arts Center in Tucker, you will learn the Japanese style of Shintoyoshin-Kai Jujitsu / Jiu-Jitsu in tandem with our style of Okinawan Karate. This combination provides versatility in training and a greater understanding of how to defend yourself in a variety of situations.

In your Jujitsu practice, you will develop a strong foundation in the core principles of balance, leverage, and sensitivity. You’ll learn how to fall safely, throw effectively, apply joint locks efficiently, and strike accurately — all while developing greater awareness, control, and confidence in your movements.

You’ll also learn practical self-defense techniques for both standing situations and encounters on the ground. Our Jujitsu / Jiu-Jitsu classes incorporate plenty of groundwork and grappling while emphasizing the importance of safely and effectively getting back to your feet when necessary.

A typical Jujitsu / Jiu-Jitsu class at The Martial Arts Center begins with yoga-based stretching followed by a warm-up consisting of calisthenic and plyometric exercises. From there, every class is a little different. One class may emphasize falling and throwing, while another focuses on striking and joint locks. Other classes may include extended randori (grappling) sessions. Throughout your training, you’ll receive thorough instruction in our self-defense curriculum, including how to effectively navigate situations on the ground and safely get back to your feet.
